Wide-5 is a phrase that helps describe the large 165mm (6 1/2″) stud pattern used on early Land Rover models including the original Land Rover Series vehicles, the Defender (L316) , Classic Range Rover and the Discovery 1. This unique feature sets these vehicle apart from their later stablemates and roots them firmly in the early history of Land Rover cars.
The idiosyncrasies of these early Land Rovers has resulted in a cult like following and enthusiasts can be found the world over.
As a devoted Land Rover fan I have had the opportunity to own many of the marques early vehicles and my interest continues into the new generation modern vehicles and the resto-mod vehicles that are emerging.
